Counseling
Services
Guyton Counseling Services is a family-owned counseling practice that provides innovative services through the owner and sole practitioner's belief in servant-leadership. Nate Guyton, a graduate of TCU's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, compassionate helper, and systems thinker, brings a unique approach to counseling. He meets every client where they are by building a bridge to their preferred future. Through a consistent belief in his clients, Nate is here to serve, and he allows the client to lead.
A Counseling Difference That Is:
Athletics-Informed
Nate is a former NCAA Division 1 Athlete. He understands the pressures you face on the field, and he’s your teammate for the stressors you tackle off it.
Trauma-Responsive
You can both recognize the trauma you experienced and describe your resilience. Nate is trained in trauma-responsive therapy to offer you sensitive, healing care.
Faith-Friendly
Different from faith-based, Nate offers a Christian lens to those who wish to incorporate their faith in counseling. To those who do not, all walks of life are welcome at Guyton Counseling Services.
Measurement-Based
Adjustments are critical to any game plan. Counseling with Nate will include consistent curiosity by him using measurement-based care to ensure the service offered is meeting your needs.
I Value…
-
“No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
-Albert Einstein
Problem-solving is different than solution-building. Solutions are not necessarily related to the problem, and we will describe what will be different after the influence of the problem is no longer there.
-
“A champion is defined not by their wins, but how they recover when they fall.“
-Serena Williams
I collect consistent feedback through the Partners for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS). This keeps us on track in our work together for a successful service.
-
“Until you are willing to be confused about what you already know, what you know will never grow bigger, better, or more useful.”
-Milton H. Erickson
Growth is possible through our work together, and growth is not a destination.
-
“My best skill was that I was coachable. I was a sponge and aggressive to learn.”
-Michael Jordan
The therapeutic alliance accounts for the greatest percentage of change that can come from therapy. This requires trust, and I will respect your pace in that process.
-
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
-Jeremiah 29:11
Your voice matters, and I will listen to it as a witness to your experience.
