Meet Nate Guyton

I want to be of service to you. I will serve you best by leaning on my experience playing Division I Football for Texas Christian University. As a former walk-on and offensive lineman, I know what it means to serve others with selflessness, patience, and consistent encouragement. I learned how to lead through being curious about my teammates' pain, dreams, and culture. By connecting to what was important to them, I always sought to be the best teammate I could be for each of my fellows in turn.

Now, you are my teammate. I am applying my counseling skill-set to a servant-leadership cultivated on the football field. In order to meet your needs, I believe in leading from one step behind. I allow and encourage you to be the expert of your own experience while I empower you through my expertise in a respectful counseling approach. By considering you as more than the sum of your parts, you and and I will build solutions that create lasting change through meaningful differences.

I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (Supervised by Dr. Kelly Guidry, LPC-S), and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. I specialize in time-efficient solution-focused, trauma-informed individual therapy and family counseling for adolescents and adults (ages 13+) in The Woodlands, Texas. I have worked in behavioral hospital settings, adolescent residential and intensive outpatient addiction treatment, family resource centers, university counseling centers for students and college athletes struggling with substance use and problem drinking, and crisis centers for survivors of traumatic experiences.

It would be my honor to serve you, and I hope you'll allow me to empower your leadership in our work together.

Nate in the Media

2018 Big XII Champion for Life

I always dreamed of helping people with their recovery journey. I am grateful to the TCU Football program for giving me a platform to share what this dream looked like in 2018.

2021 Albert Schweitzer Fellowship

I had the privilege of serving adolescents in recovery through the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. Through this project, I learned what it means to lead from a step behind.

FWISD Counseling Services

During my graduate school internship, I served with a team of brilliant counselors helping Fort Worth youth. My peers in the program are now spread across the state and the country doing incredible work.
