A peer leadership program for high school students
The Leaders for Hope program takes your Montgomery County and Conroe Independent School District high school student-leadership talent on a journey that creates a culture-changing skillset in your high school’s organizations, teams, and clubs.
GCS is committed to empowering peer leaders in high schools by transforming their leadership talents into skills through expert training. By becoming a Leader for Hope, your student or athlete will collaborate with like-minded peers to define “leadership,” develop invaluable listening skills, and learn how to help a friend who is struggling with mental health or substance use challenges.

How to become a Leader for Hope

CISD or Montgomery County students who are a part of an organization, team, or club apply to become a Leader Joined for Hope.

Selected students participate in engaging workshops where they learn how to listen, support, and influence. Leaders who complete all workshops receive a Question, Persuade, and Refer Suicide Prevention certificate valid through one year and a Leaders Joined for Hope Certificate valid for a lifetime!

Leaders for Hope present to their coaches or school staff and the Cassidy Joined for Hope Board on how they will implement their skillset and training in a collaborative conclusion of our workshops.

Leaders for Hope are sent out into their organizations, communities, and schools as a difference that makes a difference!

Parents or Guardians, please complete this form with your student or athlete. Guyton Counseling Services will process each application and get back to you and your student or athlete with group availability and/or further information about next steps (i.e. the interview process, finding the appropriate timing/group availability to become a Leader for Hope, etc.).
